The Swedish Trade & Invest Council, along with members of the Sweden+Taiwan Green Transition Alliance, including Baseload Power, Assa Abloy, and Camfil, visited Taipower President Wang and his team to discuss Taiwan and Sweden’s energy transition journey and potential collaboration between Sweden and Taiwan on energy sector.
Taipower President Wang highlighted Sweden's leadership in energy and green transitions, noting that Sweden has been implementing a carbon tax since 1991, making it quite advanced in this field and expressed eagerness to learn from Sweden's experience and look forward to increased collaboration, not only in geothermal power but also other areas.
Taipower and the Swedish geothermal power developer Baseload Power have already established partnerships to jointly develop geothermal resources in the Datun Mountain region of northern Taiwan. Alliance member Camfil presented its sustainable solutions for gas turbine filtration and power control rooms, while Assa Abloy showcased its smart access control systems to strengthen the security of critical power infrastructure.
As the Swedish Representative Helena Reitberger pointed out, “In addition to strong policy support, the Swedish government has fostered strong collaboration between the public and private sectors. We also look forward to work together with Taipower to achieve our shared goals”.
