The Swedish Trade & Invest Council, together with the Sweden+Taiwan Green Transition Alliance members Baseload Power, Scania, Atlas Copco, Ericsson, Volvo Group and Assa Abloy, visited CPC Chairman Lee Shun-chin on 31 October to exchange experiences and discuss potential collaborations.
During the meeting, Chairman Lee explained CPC’s pathways and action plan for the net zero transition. He specifically emphasized three strategies. The first one is developing high-value petrochemicals, which includes gradually boosting the production of petrochemicals instead of fuel to invent new materials. The second strategy is achieving low-carbon emissions. This includes carbon capture and utilization (CCU) and carbon capture and storage (CCS). The third strategy is lean-renewable energy. This includes exploring geothermal, building solar photovoltaic systems and developing offshore wind energy.
CPC has expressed its interest in Ericsson’s private network services and Scania’s and Volvo’s EV, alternative fuel and hydrogen vehicle development. CPC and Baseload Power also discussed the potential and restrictions surrounding the development of geothermal power in Taiwan, while Atlas Copco and Assa Abloy provided a thorough introduction on how their products help customers reduce energy consumption.
We believe this meeting can lead to more concrete collaboration between the Sweden+Taiwan Green Transition Alliance and CPC Corporation in the future.
