The "Sweden + Taiwan Green Transition Alliance" Visits Taipei Metro to Explore Net-Zero Carbon Strategies and Collaboration

On September 16 (Monday), the Swedish Trade and Invest Council, along with members of the "Sweden + Taiwan Green Transition Alliance" including Assa Abloy, Camfil, and Baseload Power Taiwan, visited Taipei Metro to learn about the company's goals and strategies for achieving net-zero carbon emissions.

As a major green transportation option for the public, Taipei Metro recorded 700 million passenger trips in 2023. Taipei Metro is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the metro system. In response to Taiwan's 2050 net-zero target, the company has implemented various measures, including smart train dispatch management, optimization of train operation modes, striving for green building certifications, and supporting green transportation (such as electric bus charging demonstration sites).

In line with the metro company’s net-zero carbon reduction goals, alliance members shared their technologies and solutions:

  • Assa Abloy offers a range of smart lock solutions that meet regulatory and sustainability certification requirements.
  • Camfil reduces energy consumption significantly through optimized designs, including improved filter material quality, increased surface area, and enhanced filter structure.
  • Baseload Power Taiwan discussed the social promotion of geothermal and renewable energy, sharing insights on the current state of geothermal development in Taiwan, and expressed hopes for further promoting renewable energy applications in the future.

Innovation and sustainability are key drivers of green transition. This exchange aims to deepen collaboration between Taiwan and Sweden in the field of green transportation, jointly progressing towards the net-zero carbon emission goal and creating more opportunities for cooperation.
